Ever since Greta Thunberg led the “Fridays for Future” campaign, it has become clear that we are all called upon to behave in a sustainable manner – including in the manufacture of catering equipment. This applies both to the expectations of the guests and to the canteen kitchen technology, which can contribute to sustainability in many different ways. The explosiveness of this topic will continue for a long time and can only be solved politically, economically and socially. We manufacturers of catering equipment and canteen kitchen technology have to coordinate our economic efforts and use our resources responsibly. However, making the product sustainable in every respect is difficult and often requires a lot of effort. But it works! Every small step is a step in the right direction.
And the principle of sustainability does not even have to be in conflict with economic thinking: How can you, as a manufacturer of catering equipment, contribute as simply as possible to protecting the environment and at the same time create an advantage for the target group, the restaurateurs? Quite simply: by producing durable, robust devices and always providing the right spare parts for these devices. Away from the "throw away society" towards "production for life" - that is Heidebrenner's motto.
Below you can see an example of what the sustainable production of catering equipment means for us: This Heidebrenner gas stove has been in service for 65 years and you get an insight into what the catering equipment delivered looks like before and after the repair. This is a contribution to the environment. And we continue to do the same...!
