Tell us something about your restaurant, please. How big is the restaurant, what specialities do you offer, how do you prepare them and who are your customers? What do your customers particularly appreciate about you?
Our traditional house is located opposite the train station on the way to Troisdorf City. In addition to Mediterranean specialities, the restaurant also serves high-quality international cuisine with a changing seasonal menu. Guests can enjoy juicy Argentinian steaks from a selection of beef and New Zealand lamb, delicious dishes with wild fish and poultry, and a wide range of salads. These specialities are complemented by a fine selection of wines and fine digestives.
Adria can accommodate up to 40 people. Our cosy lounge area invites you to enjoy our food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. Creative desserts and ice cream round off the delightful experience. The restaurant has become an insider tip for visitors and exhibitors of the Cologne trade fair. Excellent transport links and prestigious hotel accommodation nearby make this restaurant worth a visit.
How did you get the information that you can buy a catering appliance from Heidebrenner? How did you come to Heidebrenner (internet?, recommendation?, industry directory?)
We searched dealers for a long time, but found nothing suitable. On the Internet we then researched and read many positive reviews about Heidebrenner Grills. On the website we then got further information and were immediately convinced: It should be a Heidebrenner lava grill.
When did you buy which Heidebrenner device? Can you describe the purchase process?
We asked Heidebrenner for advice over the phone. The staff took a lot of time for us and were able to answer every question very competently. We decided to start with a 2-zone lava stone grill, because this is basically enough to prepare all grilled dishes (80 % of our menu) for all guests. Heidebrenner made us an uncomplicated offer, which we immediately ordered. Only a week later the grill could be delivered. We were informed about every operation by e-mail.
The manager personally supplied us with the grill and introduced us to the applications. When we were able to experience the performance of the grill on site, we wanted another “upgrade”: our old frying pan should be replaced. Knowing that the Heidebrenner grills also work with pan attachments, we replaced the 2-zone grill with a 3-zone lava grill. This additional heating zone has completely replaced our old frying pan. This is a real blessing. The exchange was possible without any problems and was carried out at no cost.
We had never experienced such a service before when buying any device!
Why did you buy the device? Did you already know that you need this device or was a specific device recommended to you by the Heidebrenner staff?
We were already sure it should be a gas lava grill. But when it comes to accessories, application possibilities and other functions, we really opened our eyes at Heidebrenner. Now we have a grill that is not only much more powerful, but also performs much more functions than a regular lava stone grill.
We have a griddle on which we can roast – just like on a griddle – and a shelf on which we can keep the grill warm and which makes it much easier for us to work when the house is full.
Did you also buy accessories with the device? If yes: Why do you need the accessories in your day-to-day business?
In addition to the griddle attachment (already included in the scope of delivery), we bought an Etagere and a grate pad for the Etagere. The Etagere has 3 circulation levels. On the first floor we can still grill at 300 degrees Celsius (it is hard to believe how strong these grills are) and on the upper levels we can temporarily store and keep warm the barbecues. We use the keep warm function, since we already have enough space on the 3-zone unit for the preparation of the barbecue..
What did you particularly notice during the consultation? Did you feel well advised by Heidebrenner?
Absolutely. We felt that the employees there were all professionals with many years of experience with the technology.
Did everything go well from the order to the delivery of the device? Was the device delivered ready to connect?
The device was delivered ready for connection by the managing director personally. We were also introduced to the application. It doesn't get any better.
What did you particularly notice when buying from Heidebrenner (service mentality? Expertise? Fast processing?. . . )?
100% service mentality, 100% expertise and we could reach Heidebrenner at any time if we had a question or a problem. It doesn't get any better.
How do you use the device in day-to-day business? And what advantages does the Heideburner machine offer you in terms of power, speed, amount of food that can be prepared at the same time?
We use the grill on 2 heating zones with V-grids for strong meat and steaks. On the one hand, the V-grids allow the fat to run off very well, so that it does not burden the grill. However, the V-grids also have small gaps in which a small part of the excess fat drips into the lava stones, creating small flames that give the meat its typical smoky flavour. The grill pattern is optimal and even large steaks are ready in 4-6 minutes.
On the last heating zone we use the pan top for delicate meat such as minced meat / cevapcici or fish. This means: We can grill and fry in parallel with the grill and then keep the finished meat warm on the shelf. From there it is served. The procedure is very effective. The Heidebrenner Lavagrill made our work much easier.
What can you say specifically about the modular design (heating zones with different grates, griddle function, shelf) of the unit? What benefits do they see in this?
The advantages are obvious: You can grill, fry, keep warm (and much more) in parallel with one appliance. This makes the work in the kitchen much easier.
Can you describe an example from practice (preparing food e. g. in the context of a celebration / large event) where you have benefited from the advantages of the device?
Since guests always come at certain peak times, we are happy to own a very powerful grill. Especially in “stressful periods” it has been shown that we were able to serve all the dishes without delay. We have not succeeded with previous devices.
What feedback do you get from your employees and customers regarding the work result they achieve with the device? Are employees and customers satisfied with the food prepared on the Heidebrenner machine?
All I hear is positive. You should know that we make a living from the barbecue business, 80% of our food is cooked on the grill. It is a real blessing that we are now working with a really high-quality grill.
Have you ever had problems with your device? What can you say about the processing, cleaning and maintenance of the device? Is cleaning and maintenance straightforward? What impression do you have of the workmanship of the device?
The device is extremely robust and makes a long-lasting impression. Maintenance is child's play, as you can disassemble the grill completely by hand. It is somewhat difficult for our women to disassemble the grill on their own, as the individual parts are really heavy. But this is understandable, since good quality is robust and “heavy”.
We had problems with cleaning at the beginning, because the device gets extremely hot during operation. However, the problem could be solved, we use the grill scraper from Heidebrenner, which is also used in day-to-day business. The scraper has prefabricated edges, designed for the respective rust profile. You pull it over the grate once, turn it over and use the brush for the "basic cleaning".
You have certainly been able to gain a lot of experience with different catering equipment. To what extent is the Heidebrenner device different from these? Why should you choose a Heideburner device and not a device from another manufacturer?
There is no comparable device to this grill. An alternative would no longer be an option for us either. We cannot afford to economize on our work equipment, because these are crucially relevant to sales.
Would you decide to buy from Heidebrenner again? And can you briefly summarize why you would buy from Heidebrenner again?
Definitely. The Heidebrenner Grill is by far the best grill we have ever used. We can say little about the other appliances, but I would first turn to Heidebrenner for all catering appliances.
